"A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination or a headache." (Catherine The Great)

The ferries are shut down today because of the wind, and this strands people on the various nearby islands so they cannot commute to work.  It causes uproar, frankly, but I'm looking forward to moving to the island one day and being stranded as often as possible.

When I was in Newfoundland we would look for the days that a blizzard was coming....and then we would hurry to a cabin in the mountains to get stranded. And play Bridge for hours on end.

Ohh the seasons are so extreme in the maritimes. That sounds like a perfect way to spend a blizzard.
