There is no salvation in becoming adapted to a world which is crazy. (Henry Miller)

This morning Crazy Sue yelled at someone other than me.  She yelled, instead, at the Music teacher.  The reason for this outburst was convoluted.  Something about Crazy Sue tearing down the Music teacher's displays in the display case, and then yelling when the Music teacher asked her not to destroy her stuff.  Something like that.  The Music teacher, who knows that I have a hate on for Crazy Sue, came running to tell me about it first thing this morning when I arrived.

It's sick to say it, but part of me felt pleased that Crazy Sue was yelling at someone else for a change.  Partly because it was nice that it wasn't me, but mostly because it was reassuring to know that Crazy Sue really is crazy and yells at other people for bizarre reasons.  It's not just me.

She is so completely batshit crazy that I can't imagine they haven't fired her, or hauled her off in a nicely tailored strait jacket.

And it's not sick to be pleased that she showed her ass, as they say, to someone else. It was vindicating. I'm sorry you have to endure her presence in your life.

It's really difficult to fire teachers here because the union is extremely powerful. Even awful teachers. There's a process by which it can happen, but the process is so onerous that no administrator wants to undertake it. Instead, they just work around the bad ones, and everyone else has to bend to make it work. Crazy Sue gets a very wide berth, which just makes her life easier and easier. So why should she change if we just accommodate her, right?

Perfectly natural, normal, healthy to feel as you do. Poor crazy Sue. I do wonder what is wrong with her.

Mind you, music teachers are a law unto themselves, and they get very precious about their possessions. I threw a right paddy if somebody moved my maracas.;)

Can I please have a cuddle? It's my birthday so surely I deserve one?

Yes, the music teacher definitely isn't without her own quirks, but I don't mind quirkiness at all. I'm a bit of a quirk myself, I know. Crazy Sue isn't just quirky though... something more serious is wrong with her, I think. And this is something I would like to be patient with, but it's so difficult to be patient with someone who has their finger in your face.

It's your birthday today? Oh yes, it's a special day! I'm coming over to visit you and bring you a cuddle and some cake! xx

...one thing about crazy--there's always enough to spread around! Maybe after while, if she spreads even more crazy around, it will dilute--perhaps it will sound more like whisper-yelling...

It's dreadful that you have to deal with such upsetting hatefulness. But if realistically she can't be fired, all you can do is try to avoid her as much as possible, which of course is easier said than done as well as unfair. And I agree, her behavior is way beyond quirky.

Bridget, that's exactly it! I need the crazy to be diluted so I can manage it. When I first met Crazy Sue she didn't know me well enough to yell at me and I thought she was just a bit overly "passionate", which almost seems like a good thing until you're the target.

Susan, avoidance is my prime strategy, which I hate. But I don't know what else to do. I'm practicing rolling up in a ball like an armadillo.

If you're taking lessons from the four-legged kingdom, why not learn to spray like a skunk? That might be more efficient.

Ooh now there's a thought. I could also ink her, like a squid. I'll just have to start carrying supplies with me so I can defend myself.
