It's six minutes past eight in the evening.  Early, still very early.  But I am thinking of going to bed right now so I can read my book for longer without falling asleep over it.  I am reading In One Person, which is John Irving's newest book.  It isn't that I am not aware that I am a nerd, it's just that sometimes other people get me confused when they confuse me with someone else.

It doesn't matter if I go to bed at 7, 8, 9 or 10. As soon as I read three pages, I nod off.

It's this working-for-a-living thing that's the problem, I think. Working is for the birds.

I don't work for a living, but I nod off. Always have. Made studying a ridiculous task.

I have never read any Iving. Do you think I should? And if so, where shall I start?

Yes, you should definitely read Irving. Start with either A Prayer for Owen Meany or A Widow for One Year. Those are my favourites.
