In counselling we learn that one important factor in mental health is having things to look forward to.
I look forward to:
- weekends
- watching J's life unfold
- becoming a full time counsellor
- retiring and being able to spend more time with Shawn
What do you look forward to?

Immediately -- I look forward to being in Banff this weekend. Long term? Personal peace.
Banff is beautiful. But pack warm clothes. I think it's about -20 C there right now...
Such a diddy little post and yet one that made me think a great deal.
Think a great deal about spending a great deal of time not thinking about that question.
I think I would be a crap counsellor.
Hm.

Pixie, when people cannot answer the question then we have our first task, to create things to look forward to. And that can be very fun.
You would make a fine counsellor because the factors that are proven to matter most in counsellor effectiveness are all to do with being genuine, empathetic, and honest. I know you have these qualities. xx
You make a great point, much needed by me right now. So, I look forward to the annual Asian Pacific Arts and Antiques show in February, the farmers' market on Sundays, getting a feather bed for my mattress so I can finally sleep well, and I always look forward to seeing my children.
Lots of good things to look forward to. I would love the farmers' market too; I wish there was one close to me! I hope the feather bed happens soon and brings you sweet dreams. xxx
